When Django is the right home for your PHP application.
Django is our commercial default for PHP teams: synchronous, MVC-like and easy to adopt. Whether it fits your system is decided in the Assessment, not on this page.
Usually a good fit
- PHP CRUD, ERP and CRM systems
Many related entities, roles and approvals. - Laravel business applications
Rules-heavy apps where the data model is the product. - Admin-heavy back offices
Django admin covers most internal data screens. - Teams new to a second language
A low learning curve for PHP developers.
Usually a better fit elsewhere
- API- and realtime-first products
NestJS is usually the stronger backend. - Pure content or marketing sites
Astro is lighter and faster to run. - UX-led customer portals
Often Django behind a Next.js front end.
Concern by concern.
Typical patterns only. Your Assessment Report replaces these generalisations with findings from your own code. Business rules, data and integrations are kept and proven with parity tests.
The same process on every brand.

Is Django always the recommendation?
No. It is the commercial default because PHP teams adopt it easily. The technical choice comes from the Assessment, and sometimes it is NestJS, Next.js or a combination.
Can we keep our existing database?
Often yes. Adopting an existing schema needs an initial reconciliation step, scoped in the Migration Proposal.
Does the PHP system keep running?
Yes. The new application is built in a new repository; cutover happens only under a separate authorization.
